What changed in the port

Which parts became utilities, which stayed CSS, and why.

  • .hs-05 h2 em::before { content:'> ' } became before:content-['>_'] — the underscore is Tailwind's space.
  • UI upgrade from the CSS original: real window chrome (traffic lights, tab title), scanlines, and log lines that print in sequence on load.
  • UI upgrade: a visible, selectable install command beside the CTA and a version badge; the output grey rose to #9cbca4 for 8:1 on the screen.

How this works

Typed output without a typewriter script. Each log line carries transition-opacity duration-200 starting:opacity-0 and a longer delay than the last, so the build log appears to stream in. Under motion-reduce: transitions are removed and all lines show at once.

Two backgrounds, two jobs. The page uses a 32px repeating rule for ledger paper; the screen overlays a 3px scanline pattern via a pseudo-element (after:bg-[repeating-linear-gradient(…)]) with pointer-events-none.

Make it yours

  • Change the command and lines in the markup — add a matching delay-* to any new line.
  • Modern dark theme: swap the green/amber tokens for #a5b4fc / #f9a8d4.
  • Remove scanlines by deleting the after:* utilities on the screen.

Gotchas — read before shipping

  • Tailwind's built-in delay scale stops at delay-1000; use delay-[1400ms] beyond that.
  • The terminal is decorative (aria-hidden); put the real install command in visible text if it matters.
