Privacy in plain language.

1. What this site collects

Visitor analytics (passive)

The site runs two independent analytics tags for redundancy and cross-verification. Both count anonymised page views only; neither collects names, addresses, or any other identifying information.

Google Analytics 4 is enabled with anonymize_ip: true. Collected: page URL, referrer, browser type, device class, approximate country, and an anonymised visitor ID stored in a first-party cookie (_ga, _ga_*). Raw data is held by Google under their privacy policy; CodeFronts only reads aggregated dashboards.

Fullres is a lightweight, cookieless analytics tag loaded from codefronts.com/fullresanalytics/. Fullres does not set cookies, use cross-site tracking, or store persistent visitor identifiers — no consent banner is required for this tag. Collected: page URL, referrer, browser class, and approximate country. See the Fullres privacy policy for their full data-handling terms.

Aggregate analytics from both tags are used to understand which collections and tools see the most use, what users search for, and which pages need work.

Contact-form submissions (when you submit one)

The contact form at /contact/ sends the message body — and your email address, if you provide one — to the site owner via Resend (transactional email provider). The submission also captures your user-agent string, viewport size, and IP address for spam mitigation. We retain these messages in an email inbox; we do not sell, share, or otherwise distribute them.

Providing an email is optional. If you don't, we can't reply, but the submission still works.

Local browser storage (your machine only)

The Try-it playground at /try/* uses localStorage to remember your preferred editor layout (vertical / horizontal split, split percentage). This data never leaves your browser and is never transmitted to the site.

2. Advertising

CodeFronts serves ads through one of two ad networks, decided at build time and shown consistently to any given visitor for that visit. Both are contextual — CodeFronts does not select advertisers, view individual ad-targeting decisions, or have first-party advertising relationships.

Google AdSense

AdSense and its partners may set cookies on your device to serve relevant ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraudulent clicks. The categories of cookies set by AdSense, the data they collect, and how to control them are documented in Google's Advertising policies and Privacy Policy.

Mediavine

Mediavine is a full-service ad management partner that runs contextual advertising with an auto-placement algorithm — the Mediavine runtime walks the page's DOM after load and injects ads at in-content, sidebar, and sticky-footer positions of its own choosing. The header script is served from scripts.scriptwrapper.com. Mediavine's demand partners (Google Ad Manager, Prebid header bidders, Amazon TAM, Index Exchange, Magnite, PubMatic, Sovrn, TripleLift, and others) may set cookies for ad selection, frequency capping, viewability measurement, and fraud prevention. A persistent, dismissible "sticky footer" ad may appear at the bottom of the viewport on any page. It carries a visible × close control per Google's Better Ads Standards; closing it hides the bar for the current page view (navigating to another page or reloading re-renders it).

Consent + opting out

EU / UK / Swiss visitors will see a consent banner on first visit, in line with GDPR / ePrivacy requirements. You can withdraw or change your consent there at any time. You can also opt out of personalised ads globally via Google Ad Settings or the industry-wide AdChoices / Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out (which covers Mediavine's demand partners as well).

3. Cookies and similar technologies

CodeFronts itself sets no cookies. Cookies on this site come from third parties:

• Google Analytics 4 — measurement cookies (_ga, _ga_*) for anonymous visitor counting.
• Fullres — no cookies set. The Fullres analytics tag is cookieless by design; it identifies unique visitors from a hashed request signature rather than a persistent identifier.
• Google AdSense and ad partners — advertising and frequency-capping cookies, governed by your consent choice (only when the AdSense build is deployed).
• Mediavine and their demand partners — contextual advertising, viewability measurement, and frequency-capping cookies, governed by your consent choice (only when the Mediavine build is deployed).
• Cloudflare (the hosting and CDN provider) — may set a security cookie (__cf_bm) for bot-management on certain page loads.

Most browsers let you block, view, or delete cookies on a per-site basis. CodeFronts does not require cookies to function — disabling them disables Google Analytics and personalised ads, but the content, the cookieless Fullres tag, and everything else on the site remain fully usable.

4. Who we share data with

CodeFronts uses these third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy linked below; data flows are limited to what each service strictly requires.

5. Your rights

If you are in the EU, UK, Switzerland, California, or any jurisdiction with comparable privacy law, you have the right to:

• Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you (typically only an email if you used the contact form).
• Request correction or deletion of that data.
• Withdraw consent for analytics / advertising cookies at any time, via the Google consent banner or browser settings.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, send a message through the contact form with "data request" in the subject. We respond within 30 days.

6. Children

CodeFronts is a technical resource aimed at developers. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13 (16 in the EU). If you believe a child has submitted information through the contact form, send a message via the contact form and we will delete it.

7. Changes to this policy

If material changes occur — a new tracker, a new sub-processor, an expanded data flow — this page is updated and the Last updated date at the top is bumped. There is no mailing list to notify; check this page if you have concerns.
