What changed in the port

Which parts became utilities, which stayed CSS, and why.

  • The .hs-16__cta-pri modifier and its hover override became one class list per button — no specificity puzzle.
  • UI upgrade from the CSS original: the description promised hard 8px offset shadows that the CSS never drew; both CTAs now have them, plus a press-flat active: state.
  • UI upgrade: a Swiss index rail (founded / shipped / awards) and a location line give the hero studio credibility; Space Grotesk adds the punk-grotesk edge.

How this works

Shadows as material. Both CTAs carry a hard offset shadow; hover halves it and active: removes it while translating by the same distance — the button appears to be pushed flat into the page.

Rotation on inline-block only. The LOOK SAFE. highlight is inline-block -rotate-1; transforms don't apply to inline boxes, so the display change is load-bearing.

Make it yours

  • Swap orange/lime tokens for #ff2e63 / #08d9d6 for a cyber-punk variant.
  • Remove the index rail for a barer poster.
  • Use font-stretch on Space Grotesk alternatives for wider letterforms.

Gotchas — read before shipping

  • Pure white text on pure black can halate; the body copy uses #b5b5b5.
  • Offset shadows extend the visual box — leave padding so they don't clip at the viewport edge.
