About CodeFronts
Production-ready CSS,
copy-paste honest.
CodeFronts is a free library of hand-coded CSS components, visual generators, and developer tools. Every snippet ships in vanilla HTML and CSS — no framework lock-in, no JS unless it earns its place, no signup wall between you and the code.
What makes it different
- →Code that actually ships.Every demo is responsive at any viewport, keyboard-accessible, and respects
prefers-reduced-motion. The gallery preview and your paste produce the same result — no "looks good in the screenshot" trap. - →Vanilla CSS first.Modern selectors (
:has(),:focus-visible,@property, container queries) where they pull weight. JS only when interaction genuinely needs it. Works in any stack — React, Vue, Svelte, Astro, plain HTML. - →Built for AI-assistant workflows. The site publishes llms.txt and llms-full.txt manifests so AI assistants can extract working code instead of guessing from rendered HTML. Few sites do this; the ones that do get cited disproportionately.
- →Open source companion. The most-used CSS tools also ship as framework-free single-HTML files at github.com/codefronts/toolkit — fork, self-host, or drop into any project.
- →100% client-side.Tools and generators run in your browser. Analytics is limited to anonymised page-view counting (Google Analytics 4 + Fullres, a cookieless GDPR-friendly tracker) — no telemetry, no cross-site tracking, no signup.
What's shipped
Real numbers, not "100+ components" claims. Updated when content ships.
Plus 18 navigation collections, 22 UI snippet collections, and 13 design-style collections — 150 total content collections. Recent additions worth a look: 24 CSS timelines, 30 CSS badges, and CSS accordions.
Standards we keep
Every demo on the site is held to these:
- ✓Semantic HTML. Real
<button>,<form>,<details>,<dialog>— not<div>+ ARIA when the platform has a built-in element. - ✓Keyboard navigable. Every interactive demo works with Tab + Enter / Space, shows a visible focus ring, and doesn't depend on hover.
- ✓Responsive by default. Demos render correctly at 320 px, 600 px, and 1200 px. Defensive CSS on every demo root.
- ✓Honest counts and labels. Hero meta pills, intro paragraphs, and thumbnail headlines are computed from the data — never hardcoded. If we say "39 components," there are 39 components.
- ✓Reduced motion respected. Every demo with continuous motion honors
prefers-reduced-motion: reduce. - ✓No two-copy traps. What you see in the gallery preview is what you get when you paste — same exact code. Audited.
Why it exists
CodeFronts started because too many "free CSS component" sites publish code that breaks the moment you paste it into a real project — broken at 320 px, broken when the container is 280 px, broken with keyboard, broken without hover. We built one where every demo is held to a real production standard — what you copy is what works.
